Moorings

Whatever boat you buy – you will need a mooring.

The bigger the boat, the harder it will be to find. if you want to live on the boat, it is even harder. And if you want to live on it in London, its harder still.

The simplest solution is to buy a boat that already has a mooring – but that might not always be possible.

But mooring sites can often be available – if you know where to look and what to look out for.

London Tideway is closely connected with many mooring operators and will have the most current information on what berths might be available, now or in the future, and which might be the most suitable.

There are currently no guidelines on how to run moorings and they are largely unregulated so it can be a minefield working out what’s going on. Most offer different services, have different fee structures, and allow you to do different things with and on your boat. We know the ins and outs of this sometimes mad world, and can get you off to the best start.
